Rigaud goes to the plain of Les Cayes
Haitian
General André Rigaud, on learning of the movement carried out at Aquin against the government of President Pétion, left his command of the Grande Anse and betook himself to the plain of the Cayes on 31 October 1810. More than 3,000 cultivators came to surround him. Voltaire, who wished to remain faithful to Pétion, was abandoned and found himself alone in this plain with his brother Rameau. After the death of Rigaud, General Borgella was named head of the government of the South. On 16 March 1812, being at Aquin, he proclaimed his submission to President Pétion.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Aquin.
