Rigaud and Pétion retake Léogane and Fort Ça-Ira from the English
Haitian
On 6 October 1794, General Rigaud came from the Cayes to Léogane to attack the English, to whom Labuissonnière, a man of color, and Tibi-Salec, a white man, had handed over the town. Pétion trained a battery on the fort. After an hour of fighting he scaled the ramparts and entered the place, where he raised the French flag. From there he forced the English vessels to put out to sea.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Ça-Ira.
