Pétion takes up arms and seizes a howitzer at Pont Welche

On 14 October 1802, when Pétion (Alexandre) took up arms against the French at the Haut du Cap, he seized a howitzer set up at the Pont Welche, which twenty-five Poles were guarding. See: Hatte Welche.
