Petion goes to Leogane while Yayou, abandoned by the 21st, flees to Jacmel
Haitian
Chervain, J. C. Cadet, Sanglaou, Romain, Jourdain and Madame Germain had followed him. When the 21st learned of Yayou’s designs to bear arms against President Pétion, it abandoned him. Yayou was compelled to make his way to Jacmel with his officers, where Magloire Ambroise was in command. On 24 July the President went to Léogane, where he invited Magloire to come and join him. Magloire answered for Yayou and undertook to bring him back. Yayou, after ridding himself of his retinue, took to the woods in order to raise partisans there.
Rouzier tells this under the entry LEOGANE.
