Lamarre moves to Desmahaut to retake the offensive against Christophe

Haitian

Desmahaut. Fortified position situated near Port-de-Paix, to which Lamarre advanced on 9 August 1807 in order to resume the offensive against Christophe. Lamarre’s troops at Desmahaut drove back and routed those of Christophe commanded by General Romain. This general was wounded on 28 August. On 8 September Desmahaut is bombarded by Christophe; Lamarre evacuates the place and makes his way to Foison.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Desmahaut.
