Paul Louverture joined the independents at Morne Rouge
Haitian
The prisoners were stripped and sent on to the Cap. The same day Pétion left the Morne Rouge and went to the habitation d’Héricourt. Paul Louverture rallied to the independents on 19 October at the Morne Rouge. In that same month Generals Clervaux, Christophe and Pétion, learning at the Morne Rouge that the captain general, Leclerc, was gravely ill and that the Cap was in consternation, resolved to attack that town. In July 1803 General Clausel drove out the indigènes camped at the Morne Rouge.
Rouzier tells this under the entry MORNE ROUGE.
