Haitian

ON the Petition presented to us by the Procureur du Roi of this Siège, stating that the illnesses now prevailing in this Town may have as their cause at once the settlers’ neglect of keeping the streets clean and the liberty taken to maintain in the Town hospitals for new nègres, we, granting relief on the said remonstrance of the Procureur du Roi and taking it into account, forbid each and every one of the Captains of the Roadstead, Surgeons or settlers who may have bought or may in the future buy lots of nègres or remnants of cargoes, to set up hospitals for the said nègres in any house of the Town, in whatever place it may be located; we order them to remove the nègres from there within the day, under penalty for each day of violation of a fine of 300 livres, payable without postponement; we likewise order that the Police Regulations on the streets be carried out.
