Numa Cassy resists Salnave’s second attack on the plateau of Tort

Haitian

The house of President Pétion at Tort had been kept by his family with its furniture and belongings: his slippers were near the bed. One afternoon in 1864 it burned with all its mementos. On 14 and 22 June 1868 the plateau of Tort, held by Numa Cassy, supported by Nuce Bance and Fénélon Païnson, withstood 2 attacks by Salnave.

Rouzier tells this under the entry TORRE ou TORT, ou Volant le Tort.
