Montécatini captures General Vil Lubin at Grand-Gosier

Haitian

On 20 January 1870, the Haitian General Montécatini, an Italian in the service of the revolution at Jacmel, took General Vil Lubin, a devotee of Salnave, prisoner at Grand-Gosier. He had him taken to Jacmel tied backward on a donkey. He was then paraded through the town in that posture amid the jeers of the population, and shot in the afternoon.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Grand-Gosier.
