Montbrun fires on the barracks of the 48th under Desfourneaux
Haitian
On 17 March 1794, at 11 o’clock in the evening, Montbrun, at the head of the legion of the West and of the artillery, marched on the barracks of the 48th, commanded by Desfourneaux, which he suddenly raked with grapeshot. The white 48th regiment was devoted to Santhonax. The latter was obliged to embark the regiment and Desfourneaux for France.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PORT-AU PRINCE [le].
