Moïse reaches Santiago and Pérez Guerra capitulates
Haitian
On 11 January 1801, after the combat of Sabana Grande de Mao, the Spaniards withdrew to Santiago; General Moïse reached the walls of their stronghold. The next day, Lieutenant Colonel Don Perez Guerra opened its gates to him after an honorable capitulation. Moïse entrusted the command of the town to General Pageot, and continued his march on Santo-Domingo.
Rouzier tells this under the entry SANTIAGO de los CABALLEROS.
