Petite-Rivière de l’Artibonite. Bazin and the Adam family are murdered there.

For the rest, general tranquillity was maintained, although there was talk everywhere of a vast Riviériste conspiracy brewing; and on this occasion, to brand the acts of the administration of Rivière Hérard, the former members of the Constituent Assembly had a high mass sung on 23 March, in the Church of Port-au-Prince, to the memory of Bazin, a member of the Constituent Assembly, and of the Adam family, who had been murdered at Petite-Rivière de l’Artibonite on 29 February 1844.
