Poix-la-Générale. A battalion of the 4th is beaten there

On the 30th the republican chasseurs came to announce to Pétion the approach of a battalion of the 4th that had come out of Saint-Marc. He sent the 3rd demi-brigade to meet it, together with all his cavalry. The enemy, attacked on the Poix-la-Générale plantation, was completely beaten; he was pursued far by the cavalry and lost many men, arms and pack horses.
