The Artibonite. The law of 31 March on the sale of State property is never seriously executed there under Christophe

On 31 March a law, which was never seriously carried out under Christophe, either in the North or in the Artibonite, ordered the sale of the plantations and other property of the State of Haiti. It was only in 1821, after Christophe’s fall, that President Boyer put these properties up for sale or granted them to the people.
