Le Cap. Electoral assembly names five deputies to the Convention.

Sonthonax then convened the primary assemblies for the election of deputies to the National Convention. On 23 and 24 September the electoral assembly of Le Cap named five representatives: Mills and Bussière Laforest, men of color; Dufay, a native of Paris, and Garnot, whites; and Mars Belley, a Black citizen of great moral worth, who had served in the war of New England under the Comte d’Estaing.
