Le Cap. Toussaint and Jean-François’s officers appeared before the Colonial Assembly.

On 24 December, Toussaint and the other officers of Jean-François who had come to Le Cap with the prisoners presented themselves at the bar of the Colonial Assembly. The president said to them: “Continue to give proofs of your repentance, and tell those who send you to address themselves to the civil commissioners: only through their intercession can the Assembly declare itself on your fate.”
