Saint-Domingue. The Code Noir is registered by the sovereign council of the coast of Saint-Domingue

The present edict read, published and registered, the King’s procurator-general being heard and so requiring, to be executed according to its form and tenor; and copies of it shall be sent, at the diligence of the said procurator-general, to the seats of justice within the council’s jurisdiction, to be there likewise read, published and registered. Done and given at the sovereign council of the coast of Saint-Domingue, held at Petit-Goâve, 6 May 1687. Signed, MORICEAU.
