Valladolid. Columbus dies there.

Queen Isabella was dead. Ferdinand, who had turned against him, took from him his office of viceroy. He died of grief, in poverty, at Valladolid on 20 May 1506, at the age of seventy. He was buried in the church of the Carthusians of Seville, and his body was afterward sent to Santo Domingo, as he had asked in his will. But in 1776 his remains were carried to Havana, where they still lie.
