Môle Saint-Nicolas. Columbus anchors in a bay he names Saint-Nicolas.

After discovering several islands, he landed on 6 December at the western point of a land that the islanders of Cuba called Haïti (mountainous land) or Quiesqueia (great land). He anchored in a bay to which he gave the name of Saint-Nicolas; then, coasting along the northern shore of Haiti, on 8 December he came upon another bay which, from the feast of that day, he called the Conception: it is today L’Écu.
