Lubérisse Barthélemy retakes Grande-Rivière from the Salnave rebels

Haitian

On 31 May 1865, General Lubérisse Barthélemy seized, for the government of President Geffrard, the Grande-Rivière du Nord, which had made common cause with Salnave, and drove the rebels from it. The 27th regiment of line infantry was struck from the army for having taken part in this insurrection. But it was reinstated as soon as President Salnave came to power.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Grande-Rivière du Nord (la).
