Law puts the Butel, Fémerle, Laumont and Deronceray properties on sale
Haitian
Formerly there were several sugar works and indigo works. Today only coffee and foodstuffs are produced there. The sugar habitations Butel and Fémerle, combined into a single one, Laumont, abandoned, and the cotton plantation Deronceray were put up for sale by the law of 10 March 1814 in order to revive cultivation and increase the number of landowners.
Rouzier tells this under the entry ST. MICHEL DU FOND des NEGRES, ou du SUD.
