Larose takes Fort Robert; Néraud drives him off
Haitian
On 1 December 1802, Larose, chief of the insurgents of the Arcahaie, came to attack Fort Robert, which he took from the French. Colonel Gilbert Néraud, who commanded at the Croix-des-Bouquets, marched against the indigènes and drove them from the Habitation. Larose withdrew to the Boucassin. In 1812 Christophe had a battery set up at Robert against Fort Lamarre. In August 1889 the Northerners were setting up a battery there against Port-au-Prince when Légitime left power in the face of the superiority of his adversaries. See: Pont Robert.
Rouzier tells this under the entry ROBERT LAGETIERE.
