Larose defeats the French at Cortard; Lamartinière dies

Larose is victorious over the French at Cortard, in the Matheux, on 2 November 1802; Lamartinière, the heroic defender of the fate of the Crête-à-Pierrot, now in the service of the French, perished in that affair at the age of 32.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MATHEUX [LES].
