Jumécourt flees to Grands-Bois

Haitian

History. Hanus de Jumécourt, knight of Saint-Louis, mayor of the Croix-des-Bouquets, fled to the Grands-Bois on 10 March 1792, at the arrival of the army of Port-au-Prince, sent against the affranchis. After the victory he won at the Croix-des-Bouquets over the French, Hyacinthe had M. de Jumécourt return to the bourg, and named him captain of the gendarmerie.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Grands-Bois (les).
