Jérémiens attack and take Fort Salomon

MALGENON. Morne at Jérémie between the habitations Bordes and Fond-Rouge, where General Fortanges Chevalier, commander of the Arrondissement of the Cayes and general in chief of the Government army, had a fort built in 1803, named Fort Salomon, against the rebels of Jérémie. This fort was attacked by the people of Jérémie on 19 August 1883 and taken.
