Fort Brice, held by 8 men, resists General Piquant’s attack

Haitian

The forts Mallet, Hibbert, Brice, Réfléchi, Lacroix, Némorin, Rempart, Benjamin, the Carénage, the Spanish spring, the Cercle or Détour, the Source Salée, the Pont de Miragoâne and the Etang, the Saint Michel du Fond des Nègres and a few habitations are the only places to visit in the commune. Fort Brice, defended by 8 men in 1883, resisted the attack of General Henri Piquant on 22 August. Piquant, wounded, went to Port-au-Prince.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MIRAGOANE.
