Jérémie declares against President Salomon

During the insurrection of Boyer Bazelais at Miragoâne, in 1883, Jérémie declared against the government of President Salomon on 23 May. C. Kerlegrand, Senator, was the chief of the insurrection. After a blockade and a siege of 8 months, Kerlegrand capitulated in January 1884.
