Iron bridge opened over the Haut du Cap river

Haitian

On 20 June 1877 the government placed at the disposal of the public, over the river of the Haut du Cap or Galiffet river (see that entry), an iron bridge 50 metres long to facilitate communication between the town and the interior. The builders of the bridge levied a toll, but the government has just opened this bridge to free circulation in 1887, compensating the builders, whose representative was Monsieur Henri Etienne.

Rouzier tells this under the entry HAUT DU CAP (le).
