Insurrection of the enslaved sets the Plaine du Nord ablaze
Haitian
HISTORY. On 22 August 1791, at the insurrection of the enslaved, the whole Plaine du Nord was put to fire and blood: in the countryside the whites of all parties fell under the blows of the people they had enslaved, whom they had tortured without pity for many years.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PLAINE du NORD (la).
