Hurricane destroys the church of Saint Louis du Sud

Haitian

The church was built of masonry and covered with shingles; it was destroyed by the hurricane of 4 July 1878; it has been rebuilt, and awaits its roofing. It is under the patronage of St. Louis, whose feast is on 25 August. The hurricanes of 1716, 1737, 1741, 1751, 1754 and 1878 are counted.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAINT LOUIS DU SUD.
