Hurricane carries off the Pajarito bridge
Haitian
PAJARITO ( le ). Small hamlet, poste militaire or canton of the province of Santo-Domingo, watered by the Ozama and the Jainamosa. Central mills: the Jainamosa and the Francia. A wooden bridge joins the hamlet to Santo-Domingo; this bridge was carried away in the hurricane of 6 September 1883, so greatly did the waters of the Ozama swell.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PAJARITO ( le ).
