Heights of Limbe and Borgne rise against the French
Haitian
At the arrival of the French in 1802, Romain fought in the mornes of Limbé for Toussaint with rare intrepidity. On 2 August the heights of Limbé and of the Borgne are in full insurrection, with Pilate, l’Escalier, la Branle and le Mapou, against the French. In September the band chief Vamalheureux, in insurrection against Leclerc, established himself between the Borgne and Limbé.
Rouzier tells this under the entry LIMBE.
