Government troops take Fort Biassou from the Nordistes
Haitian
On 30 November 1888, the government troops seized this fort from the Nordistes. An order of the day of the councillor for war, General Anselme Prophète, dated from Lascahobas, announced this feat of arms, which brought Vallière into the power of President Légitime. Four times the Nordistes returned to the charge and were repulsed with losses. At the fall of Légitime, the government of General Hippolyte ordered the demolition of fort Biassou, which constituted a danger to the republic. Lost in the woods, this fort, which in no case was called upon to render service, says the Exposé de la situation of 1890, had become a veritable lair where the brigands from everywhere met.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Biassou.
