Germain Picot’s head brought to Les Cayes
Haitian
In 1805 Germain Picot, a former officer of the 18th half-brigade, rose against Dessalines and seized the citadel of the Platons with a few cultivators whom he had drawn into his revolt. General Moreau marched from the Cayes against the rebels. Geffrard put himself at the head of the cavalry, which boldly climbed the mornes of the Platons. Germain Picot had only time to fire one cannon shot of grapeshot: he threw himself into the woods with his band. Some time later the head of Germain was brought to the Cayes, on 9 March 1806.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PLATONS (les).
