General Séide Thélémaque dies in the fight at Port-au-Prince

General Séide Thélémaque commanded this arrondissement for many years. He was a member of the provisional government, in charge of the ministry of war, and a candidate for the presidency, when he perished at Port-au-Prince in an unfortunate struggle engaged between the guard of the National Palace commanded by General Anselme Prophète and the troops of the North, in the night of 28 September 1888.
