General Jean-Jumeau was landed at Morne Blanc to fight the insurgent Gonaïves

On 22 October 1888 General Jean-Jumeau was landed there from Port-au-Prince, sent by the provisional government to go and fight the insurgent Gonaives after the death of Séide Télémaque.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MORNE BLANC [le].
