General Dumouriez Rabel takes arms against President Légitime

Haitian

On 11 July 1889, the Northerners having seized the Croix-des-Bouquets and the plain of the Cul de Sac, General Dumouriez Rabel, son of Hilaire Rabel and brother of the constituent Numa Rabel, a partisan of the Northerners, who commanded the garrison of Saltrou, took up arms against President Légitime. General Dardignac, after the evacuation of the Arcahaie, was sent against him and joined at Jacmel with the minister of War, S. M. Pierre: they marched by sea and by land against Saltrou, which was bombarded and taken on 14 July. The rebels fell back into the woods and reappeared at Grand-Gosier, which was destroyed.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SALTROU.
