Geffrard is named general of division at camp Gérard

On 6 July 1803, Dessalines being at the Gérard camp, Geffrard was named general of division. In the presence of the brigadier generals Jean-Louis François, Moreau, Gérin and Férou, Dessalines made a bonfire of the commissions sent by Lamour Dérance to the officers of the South, and replaced them with his own.
