Garry Conille born, twice prime minister and twice pushed out

Haitian

Garry Conille was born on 26 February 1966. A physician trained in public health, he worked for the United Nations and served as Bill Clinton’s chief of staff on the Haiti recovery commission after the 2010 earthquake. He became prime minister in October 2011 under Michel Martelly and resigned on 24 February 2012, four months in, after his ministers simply stopped showing up to his meetings. In June 2024 the Transitional Presidential Council brought him back. It fired him in November of the same year. Twice handed the government, twice removed before he could finish anything.
