Gabart buried at Saint Marc

Haitian

Its patron saint’s feast is on 25 April, Saint Mark’s day. The body of Gabart, who died at 29, was buried there on 30 October 1805 (See: Dondon), and his heart was carried to Marchand and buried at Fort Culbuté. The air of the town is healthy; the two rivers that pass through it contribute to this happy effect. It shares with Jérémie the reputation of being, through the mildness of its climate, one of the most agreeable places of residence on the island.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAINT MARC.
