French sortie from Santo-Domingo threatens Magny at San Carlos
Haitian
On 6 March 1805, at the approach of Dessalines, General Ferrand had San Carlos set on fire, being unable to defend it. General Magny took possession of it. On the 11th, at eight o’clock in the morning, the French besieged in Santo-Domingo made a sortie in which General Magny was exposed to losing his position at San Carlos. Pétion, Magloire Ambroise, and Colonel Guillaume of the fourteenth half-brigade distinguished themselves on that day. General Ferrand left the field covered with dead and wounded.
Rouzier tells this under the entry SAN CARLOS ou LOS LLEINOS.
