Elfond’s band repulsed at Pont Rouge by Fort Lamarre

Haitian

On the night of 19 December 1869, when the Cacos entered Port-au-Prince, Elfond, who was commanding the Croix des Bouquets for Salnave, presented himself at the Pont Rouge with his band to come to the defense of Salnave. Fort Lamarre drove them back.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PONT ROUGE.
