Dessalines lifts the siege of Santo Domingo

Haitian

On 16 February 1805 Dessalines marched on Santo Domingo, where he arrived on 8 March; he besieged the town. On 28 March he raised the siege of the town, on the arrival of a French squadron bringing 4,000 troops. Two mulâtres of Saint Marc, Faustin Répussard and Savary, had greatly helped General Ferrand to hold out against the invader.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SANTO-DOMINGO.
