Dessalines besieges St. Michel for fifteen days

Haitian

On 18 May 1800 Dessalines, pursuing Rigaud as far as Miragoâne, marched his troops against St. Michel, which he took only after a siege of fifteen days. The army of Toussaint Louverture, which counted 30,000 men at the beginning of the campaign, found itself reduced. Before St. Michel it stood at 14,000.

Rouzier tells this under the entry ST. MICHEL DU FOND des NEGRES, ou du SUD.
