Dardignac defeats the Nordistes at Gervais
Haitian
On 6 February 1889, General Dardignac, operating against the Northerners of Saint-Marc for the government of General Légitime, and having under his orders about 250 men, defeated there the insurgents led by Monfiston Jérôme, commandant of the town of Saint-Marc, who fled, abandoning their dead and wounded. Mr. Edmond Martelly was taken prisoner there and brought to Port-au-Prince, where he revealed the deplorable state of the town of Saint-Marc.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Gervais.
