Commissioner Delpêche dies at Les Cayes
Haitian
The civil commissioner Delpêche died at the Cayes on 27 September 1793, without having had the honor of proclaiming in the South the general liberty that Southonax and Polvérel, his colleagues, had proclaimed in the North and in the West. This honor was reserved for Polvérel, who dismissed General Harty, suspected of royalism, and replaced him with General Rigaud.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Cayes (les).
