Combat between Toussaint’s troops and the English

Haitian

On 1 June 1796 there was a fight between the troops of Toussaint Louverture and the English. The former went to camp on a more advantageous position, from which the whole English expedition drove them after a violent engagement. The English took two pieces of cannon and lost 20 men.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MICHEL.
