Combat at Marre à Coiffe ends the civil war between Rigaud and Toussaint

Haitian

MARRE à COIFFE. Habitation at the morne Tremé, commune of Aquin, where on 7 July 1800 the combat took place that put an end to the civil war between Rigaud and Toussaint. It is the highest point of Aquin. Toward the North it is always seen capped with a whitish crown of mists. See: Mal à Caïfe or Coife.

Rouzier tells this under the entry MARRE à COIFFE.
