Cinna Lecomte lands from Dominican territory and seizes the Cap arsenal
Haitian
On 15 May 1872, conspirators who had taken refuge in the Dominican Republic came and landed there and seized the arsenal of the Cap. At 5 o’clock in the morning, General Alexis Nord attacked them and, routing them, took prisoner their chief Cinna Lecomte, who had given himself the name Jean-Jacques Dessalines II; he was executed in the presence of the army.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Cocos (les).
