Christophe’s general assault on Port-au-Prince is repulsed
Haitian
On 6 January Christophe delivered a general assault. His columns were repulsed at every point. Fearing to see insurrections break out in his rear, in the North and in the Artibonite, he raised the siege of Port-au Prince on the 8th, after having had 200 republican prisoners burned alive. He took the road to the Arcahaie, leaving the plain of the Cul de Sac in flames.
Rouzier tells this under the entry SIBERT.
